Second Matchup With TNW Tools Ends With Tie
By Dave Monnerat
(Centennial, CO) - Friday night the Titans faced the very physical TNW Tools in their second meeting between the two teams this season. The Titans took the first meeting 1-0 behind great goaltending from Bucky Khalap. Bucky was in net for this game, as well, and there was no rust after having taken a few weeks off.
Both teams were unable to score in the first period, but not for lack of shots. Both Khalap and the TNW Tool's goalie were busy, and stopped everything that came their way.
A questionable interference call against Loren Husson late in the first period put TNW Tools on the power play to start the second period, but Khalap and the Titans defense were key on the penalty kill. Midway through the period, the Titans opened up the scoring with a redirect goal by Brandon Harshbarger off a blast by Bill Decker from the point. The goal was Brandon's first of the season.
In the third period, TNW Tools came at the Titans with a vengeance. The period was marred with a slew of non-calls by the officials, one of which left Titan Captain Andy Munoz with a bleeding chin from a blatant high stick. The frustration of the Titans showed, and TNW Tools took advantage by scoring a goal with 7 minutes left in the game. The gamed ended in a 1-1 tie.
