New Faces and New Places

By Rob Brown
Big Bear, Denver, CO - The Titans are gearing up for their first season on ice at Big Bear Ice Arena, which will start on April 29th and will run for 13 weeks. Most of the core players will return including: Dave LeHota, Rob Brown, Andy Munoz, Mike Hada, Ray Varela, Mark Pawlak and Eric Chrisman. Since the roster has been expanded from 9 to 16, more players were recruited to fill the roster. The new members of the Titans include: Jim Kambeitz (Center), Bob Husson (Defense), Jon Wiswall (Defense), Dave Monnerat (Defense), Rick Salazar (Defense), Kyle Higgins (Center), Keith Higgins (Left wing), Robert Chavez (Right wing), and Bryon Tracy (Goalie).

With the mix of new and veteran players combined with playing on ice for the first time, a period of adjustment is expected. Every member of the Titans must remember not to get frustrated and to focus on having fun.

There are many aspects of the game that are different from In-line, which will make this transition an interesting one. There are 5 skaters on the ice per team, there's icing, offsides and 2 line passes that the players will have to get used to and the speed of the game is faster.

As for the past Titans, Frank Colella moved to Boston Massachusetts, Jim Waterman is getting ready to move to England, Ken Morrison will remain playing at the Bladium, Ryan Floyd had other commitments this season and Ken Ciezadlo will be a substitute. Some of these players will join the Titans in up coming seasons.
